La Vanguardia
18/09/2023. Lita Cabellut was recognized with the Vanguardia Award in the Culture Category, as part of the celebration of the 142nd Anniversary of the newspaper La Vanguardia, one of the most important ones in Spain. These awards aim to recognize outstanding careers in all areas of society: Sol Daurella (Cobega) and Marc Puig (Puig) as entrepreneurs of the year; physicist Ignacio Cirac, artist Lita Cabellut, singer Bad Gyal, and Grant Dalton.
The jury praised Lita Cabellut because of her unique artistic vision and her ability to build her own creative universe, combining different disciplines and styles to go beyond the traditional boundaries of art. Nicknamed "the portraitist of lost souls," Cabellut has developed a highly individual technique from her studio in The Hague. Her large-scale, emotionally charged works stand out for their use of innovative materials and portraits that explore the depth of the human being. Her art reflects a hybrid identity: a Dutch sensibility combined with the energy and passion of her Spanish roots.
This award recognizes her contribution to the current art scene and her ability to move and provoke reflection through painting.
